This pattern works with any yarn weight and the recommended hook size. I have used aran cotton with a 4.5mm hook, chunky chenille yarn with a 6.5mm hook and super chunky yarn with a 10mm hook. Optional extras include buttons, ribbons, key chains, felt, twine and beads. Scissors and tapestry needle are also needed.

Skill level is easy-beginner. Requires the knowledge of basic crochet stitches including- slp st, ch, hdc and dc.
